Third eye chakra
The sixth or forehead chakra corresponds to the element light. It is located between the eyebrows in the middle of the forehead and figuratively stands for our intuition and our sixth sense. It is also called the third eye and is associated with the colour indigo blue (dark blue mixed with a hint of violet).
The symbol of the forehead chakra is the 96-petalled lotus, but only two petals are actually visible in the symbol. This is because the energy of the forehead chakra is actually even more fundamental than that of the root chakra - finally it is the power of the mind that makes a human a human.
This chakra determines our inner vision and imagination. It influences our ability to analyze, to see clearly and precisely, to perceive, to discover, to dream, to imagine and to visualize. It connects the left, rationally thinking brain hemisphere with the right, feeling brain hemisphere and therefore gives us the ability to grasp all sides of a situation and anticipate how a situation will develop.
When the third eye is activated, you have good intuitive abilities and a kind of "inner wisdom" that allows you to visualize your dreams and visions. It is easy for you to remember dreams and to meditate.
With a healthy sixth chakra you have the ability to look ahead and see how things will develop before they actually happen.
One of the greatest signs of a healthy sixth chakra is clairvoyance. Clairvoyance is the ability to see the spiritual and energetic world as easily as the physical world. However, this is not only true of clairvoyants in the classical sense, but also of anticipating an event or situation.
An overdeveloped sixth chakra is rather rare, as this would only be the case if the other chakras could not balance the forehead chakra. But the upper chakras, including the third eye chakra, do not develop until the lower chakras form a balanced basis. Similar to the throat chakra, a too strong sixth chakra would maifest itself in an overemphasis on mental abilities, selfishness and striving for power.
A blocked third eye chakra makes it more difficult to take intuitive decisions or predict events. Imagination is limited, and one is limited only to the perception of the physical world. The connection to one's own imagination is missing. Often you expect the worst in life and project these fears onto your fellow human beings. It can also lead to a state of "mental confusion", so that the reference to reality is lost.
A weakened thrid eye chakra can also manifest itself in a lack of orientation and feelings of senselessness - one does not know what to do with one's life. You feels helpless, disoriented and unable to make decisions.
On a physical level, the sixth chakra affects the head, the eyes, all sensory organs, the brain and the nervous system. An imbalance can manifest itself in headaches, dizziness, impaired vision and difficulty concentrating.
Balance the third eye chakra
Activating the forehead chakra means strengthening one's own perceptive abilities. A balanced sixth chakra enables us to gain deep insights about ourselves, other people and life itself. The following tips can help in everyday life:
Writing down your own dreams and visions
Visualization as a powerful tool
Meditation early in the morning or in the evening before going to sleep
Remember your own dreams
Expressing yourself creatively through art and music
Night silence and darkness open the forehead chakra and stimulate it
